About Dr. Valitutto

Dr. Valitutto, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania veterinary school, is general curator/vet at New York’s Staten Island Zoo and consulting veterinarian for the Livingston Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy in Litchfield.

After completing his residency training at the Wildlife Conservation Society (Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, Queens Zoo, and New York Aquarium), he worked briefly as head veterinarian for the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute: a 3,500-acre park dedicated to propagating endangered species including various cranes, cheetahs, maned wolves, and Przewalski’s horses. Valitutto was recently seen on NBC’s “Today” Show with C.C., an adorable sloth!
