About Lanette Raymond

Lanette is a social and health psychologist and research methodologist who has worked for more than a decade in higher education. She is engaged in strategic planning and teaches faculty and administrators how to evaluate the success of their programs for the purposes of improvement. As a child, one of her favorite places in the world was Busch Gardens, only 10 minutes from her home in Southern California. Though she didn’t consider living with a parrot until about 15 years ago, parrots figured prominently in her most vivid childhood dreams. Lanette joined the Long Island Parrot Society in 2004 and worked her way up to President in 2008, a position she held until recently. She says that it seems obvious that parrots enhance our lives, and wants to share with The Parrot Club some of the ways that our parrots can help us live healthier lives. We love them and they’re good for us too!
